Job summary

Kickstarter is seeking a senior communications leader to shape global brand narratives across culture, media, and partnerships. As a senior practitioner, you will build campaigns, lead a PR agency, and advise the executive team on messaging and reputation.

This role requires deep media relationships and a track record delivering bold ideas that resonate with creators and audiences. The position offers a fully remote, internationally distributed team with flexible work arrangements.

Qualifications

• Significant senior-level experience in brand communications, cultural marketing, or public relations
• Exceptional cultural fluency and a strong point of view on creative culture
• Proven record of developing original ideas into successful campaigns or partnerships
• Deep relationships with major media outlets and influential industry leaders
• Experience leading PR agencies and internal collaborators
• Strong executive presence and experience advising senior leaders
• Ability to measure brand equity, share of voice, and campaign performance
• Genuine connection to Kickstarter's mission and respect for creative communities

Responsibilities

• Identify emerging cultural conversations and creative movements where Kickstarter can play a distinctive role
• Generate bold ideas and mobilize teams to turn them into campaigns, partnerships, and experiences
• Build compelling narratives about Kickstarter's brand, business, products, and impact
• Lead proactive media relations and cultivate relationships with journalists, creators, and cultural leaders
• Serve as the senior day-to-day lead for Kickstarter's PR agency
• Advise the executive team on corporate positioning, executive communications, and reputation
• Partner with Growth, Product, Content, and Social teams to ensure a cohesive brand story
• Lead and develop a high-performing team focused on creativity and execution
