Job summary

24Baba is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to own backend systems, APIs, and data models. You will design scalable services using Node.js, NestJS, and TypeScript, building robust PostgreSQL schemas with Prisma, and guiding integrations with external systems.

You’ll work independently, make thoughtful technical decisions, and translate complex business requirements into clean, maintainable code while improving security and reliability across production systems.

Qualifications

• Production backend apps using Node.js/TypeScript with NestJS.
• Strong PostgreSQL knowledge including indexing and optimization.
• Experience with Prisma or similar ORM and safe migrations.
• Solid API design, authentication, authorization, and security.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests with Git workflows.
• Ability to explain trade-offs and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services: REST APIs, business logic with Node.js/NestJS/TypeScript.
• Design and optimize databases: PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, indexes, queries.
• Own features from development to production: test, deploy, troubleshoot in prod.
• Develop integrations with third-party services, payments, webhooks and tasks.
• Improve security and reliability: authentication, RBAC, input validation, logging.
• Raise standards: code reviews, decisions docs, mentor, collaborate with frontend.
