Job summary

NorthBay Solutions in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js) to architect scalable APIs and data processing pipelines powering AI-driven systems. You will integrate ML models, manage data orchestration, and ensure reliability and performance of AI services.

The role requires 5+ years of backend Node.js experience, strong TypeScript, REST/GraphQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes and cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience using Node.js, including Nest.js.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, REST/GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Experience with event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with containerization using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services using Nest.js and Node.js, with scalable REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Integrate machine learning inference endpoints, batch jobs, and model serving workflows.
• Collaborate with DevOps and ML engineers to deploy models, manage feature stores, and handle large datasets.
• Implement secure, high-performance backend systems with caching, queuing, and monitoring.
• Partner with AI engineers to wrap models into APIs and deploy them into production environments.
• Write reusable modules, implement unit/integration tests, and support CI/CD workflows.
