Job summary

Remotedxb is seeking an experienced backend engineering lead to drive architecture and technical strategy across the team. You will own backend services built with Node.js/NestJS, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance while coordinating with frontend leads for smooth integration.

The role requires 5+ years in backend development and 2+ years in leadership, with strong SQL (PostgreSQL) and distributed systems expertise.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• 2+ years in leadership or technical lead role.
• Proficiency in Node.js and NestJS (Express).
• Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, security and performance.
• Relational databases expertise, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Experience with unit/integration/e2e testing.
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems.
• Hands-on CI/CD, cloud platforms (GCP preferred) and IaC.
• Proficiency in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Act as Engineering lead within a squad, guiding architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with frontend leads for smooth integration.
• Lead backend technical strategy for scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Own architecture and design of backend services using Node.js/NestJS.
• Drive technical innovation with new technologies and methodologies.
• Ensure system reliability via testing, monitoring, and logging.
• Mentor and coach backend developers, fostering technical excellence.
• Oversee deployments and production operations for high availability.
• Participate in hiring processes to attract top engineering talent.
