Job summary

Pliant is seeking an experienced backend engineer to conceptualize and develop our partner and developer experience platform. You will help design a scalable, secure microservice architecture and evolve RESTful APIs and MCP tools, while collaborating with product, design and frontend teams to deliver high-quality software.

The role emphasizes performance monitoring, troubleshooting and rigorous automated testing across unit, integration and end-to-end layers, ensuring robust production services

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience with Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• Expertise in building testable, maintainable, scalable and extendable architecture.
• Proficiency with REST API, including authentication and authorization.
• Proficiency with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Experience with MCP server development.
• Experience using agentic AI in software development phases.
• Great automation testing skills.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, define and develop our partner and developer experience platform.
• Ensure a scalable, maintainable, and secure microservice architecture.
• Design and evolve RESTful API, MCP tools and customizable components.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical RFCs.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the performance and reliability of production services.
• Implement unit, integration and E2E tests.
