Job summary

Enhance is rewriting the core backend for a gym‑centric SaaS platform, connecting trainer workflows and customer data. We seek a Senior Backend Engineer to own backend work end‑to‑end, clarify requirements, design approaches, implement, test, and support release to production.

You will collaborate with Product, QA, Mobile, Data and Infra while evolving legacy systems into the core platform and mentoring other engineers through thoughtful reviews and RFCs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in backend engineering with production systems.
• Strong Java/Spring Boot experience and JVM proficiency.
• Experience building and operating backend services and integrations.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases, APIs, and data consistency.
• Proven testing experience and ability to drive quality with automation.
• Clear communication with product and QA about scope, risks, and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Own backend features from design through production.
• Integrations with gym management systems and client data flows.
• Make customer integrations repeatable, configurable, observable and reliable.
• Improve release confidence with tests and clear QA handoff.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, Mobile, Data and Infra.
• Evolve legacy systems into the core platform.
• Contribute to design discussions, RFCs/ADRs, code reviews and planning.
• Mentor other engineers with strong examples and reviews.
