Ounass, a luxury fashion retailer in Dubai, seeks a Senior Assistant Buyer to support all buying activities for an assigned category. You will maintain accurate PO data, coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams, and ensure merchandise is ordered, shipped, and delivered as planned.
You will work closely with Buying, Planning, Merchandising, Finance, Logistics, and Content teams to maintain records, analyze data, and support market preparation.
The Senior Assistant Buyer will provide essential operational and administrative support across all buying activities for an assigned category. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate buying information, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams, and helping ensure merchandise is ordered, shipped, and delivered according to plan. Working closely with Buying, Planning, Merchandising, Finance, Logistics, and Content teams, the successful candidate will combine strong organisation and attention to detail with a genuine passion for luxury fashion.
Maintaining accurate information relating to seasonal buys, including purchase orders, product details, and order confirmations
Ensuring buying records, files, trackers, and databases are updated accurately and within required timelines
Working closely with Merchandise Administration Assistants to maintain and update purchase-order trackers daily
Supporting the Buying team with purchase-order creation, weekly reporting, and shipment updates
Preparing pre-buy reports for Buyers ahead of market appointments
Coordinating with suppliers to collect and submit vendor setup documentation through the relevant portal
Partnering with Finance on new-vendor creation, brand onboarding, and updates to supplier bank details
Following up with suppliers to ensure merchandise is shipped within confirmed delivery windows
Working with Warehouse and Logistics teams to investigate and resolve shipment discrepancies and product damages
Coordinating with suppliers to obtain product assets for content creation and sharing them with the relevant internal teams
Supporting return-to-vendor processes and ensuring suppliers receive clear and timely communication
Building and maintaining strong, productive relationships with suppliers and brand partners
Collaborating across Buying, Planning, Marketing, PR, Merchandising, Production, Finance, Content, and Creative teams to support the smooth delivery of seasonal buys
Identifying operational issues and working proactively with stakeholders to resolve them
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Buying, Merchandising, or a related field
2–3 years of buying experience, preferably within fashion or retail
Knowledge of luxury buying would be an advantage
Strong luxury-fashion knowledge and a well-developed sense of product and styling
Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently
Good understanding of retail mathematics and commercial buying principles
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Confidence working independently as well as collaboratively within a team
The ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Experience using ERP systems would be an advantage
Proficiency in English
