Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for safety, health and environmental matters.
- Provide expert technical guidance to management, project teams and employees.
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety, health and environmental strategies.
- Align safety programs with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments, workplace inspections and safety audits.
- Identify operational hazards and recommend practical risk-control measures.
- Lead investigations into accidents, injuries and near-miss incidents.
- Determine root causes and monitor preventive and corrective actions.
- Integrate safety and environmental practices into project operations.
- Supervise, mentor and support the professional development of junior team members.
- Monitor changes to UAE legislation and relevant international standards.
- Develop and deliver safety, health and environmental training programs.
- Prepare detailed performance reports and recommendations for senior management.
- Manage emergency response plans and support crisis management activities.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and represent the organization on compliance matters.
- Monitor inspections and ensure reported issues are addressed promptly.
- Promote continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.
- Travel within the UAE for project inspections and audits when required.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor 's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- NEBOSH Diploma or an equivalent certification where required.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant safety, health and environmental experience.
- Demonstrated supervision and leadership experience.
- Previous involvement in roads and infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to develop and manage effective safety and health programs.
- Detailed knowledge of UAE and international regulatory obligations.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Strong risk assessment, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience conducting inspections, reporting findings and monitoring corrective actions.
- Ability to influence employees, contractors and senior stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, mentoring and team-development capabilities.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel within the UAE for operational requirements.
