Role Context

The Senior Consultant - Environment will support high-value environmental advisory and compliance work for projects that influence sustainable infrastructure and responsible development in the UAE. The role combines technical environmental assessment, regulatory interpretation, stakeholder engagement, report preparation, and project leadership. The selected candidate will help clients reduce environmental risk, meet legal obligations, improve sustainability performance, and deliver projects aligned with local requirements and international best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead environmental consulting assignments from initial scoping through delivery, ensuring project outputs are completed within agreed quality, budget, and timeline expectations.
• Prepare and manage environmental impact assessments, environmental audits, due diligence reviews, compliance studies, and technical advisory reports.
• Develop environmental strategies, management plans, policies, procedures, and monitoring frameworks tailored to client operations and project requirements.
• Review environmental data, identify risks, interpret findings, and convert technical analysis into clear recommendations for clients and decision-makers.
• Ensure project activities comply with UAE environmental regulations, federal requirements, permitting conditions, and relevant international standards.
• Advise clients on environmental risks, mitigation measures, regulatory changes, sustainability initiatives, and practical improvement actions.
• Build trusted client relationships through technical meetings, presentations, workshops, progress updates, and clear written communication.
• Coordinate with planners, engineers, project managers, sustainability specialists, contractors, authorities, and external stakeholders to deliver integrated environmental solutions.
• Supervise and mentor junior consultants, reviewing technical work while supporting their professional development and project delivery discipline.
• Track emerging environmental trends, climate-related requirements, sustainability practices, and regulatory developments affecting clients in the region.
• Support business development by identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, contributing technical inputs, and strengthening client engagement.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, technical records, quality reviews, and reporting outputs in line with company and client standards.

Ideal Profile / Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in environmental consulting, sustainability, environmental compliance, or a closely related field.
• Strong background in environmental impact assessment, environmental auditing, due diligence, permitting support, and regulatory compliance.
• Practical understanding of UAE environmental regulations, regional authority expectations, and international environmental standards.
• Experience working on infrastructure, buildings, transport, energy, water, industrial, or development-related projects.
• Ability to manage multiple environmental assignments while balancing technical quality, client priorities, and project deadlines.
• Skilled in interpreting complex environmental data and presenting findings in a structured, commercially aware, and decision-ready format.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting, client presentations, stakeholder engagement, and proposal support.
• Experience with environmental management systems such as ISO 14001 is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with GIS platforms, environmental modelling tools, monitoring systems, or similar technical applications will be an advantage.
• Previous Middle East or GCC experience is preferred, especially on projects requiring local environmental approvals.
• Demonstrated leadership ability with experience guiding junior team members and coordinating multidisciplinary inputs.
