Job summary

BLUE OCEAN CORPORATION is seeking an experienced senior accountant in Dubai to manage daily transactions, prepare invoices, and close monthly books. The role requires UAE VAT expertise and strong English-Arabic communication.

You will oversee reconciliations, reports, and audits while ensuring compliance with UAE regulations and internal controls. The ideal candidate has 4–6 years in accounting, including 2 years in a senior position, and hands-on experience with ERP software.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
4–6 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
Native Arabic speaker with strong English communication.
Hands-on experience with UAE accounting practices, VAT, and financial reporting.
Experience with full-cycle accounting (AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, month-end close).
Strong knowledge of UAE VAT compliance and VAT return preparation.
Experience with financial statements, management reports, account schedules, and reconciliations.
Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/ERP software.
Experience with Tally, Zoho Books, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.
Strong understanding of internal controls and financial procedures.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with management, auditors, banks.
Professional qualification such as ACCA, CMA, CA, or equivalent will be an advantage.
Candidates available to join on short notice will be preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage daily accounting transactions, including AP, AR, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
Prepare and maintain accurate invoices, vouchers, receipts, and other financial documents.
Perform bank, supplier, customer, and ledger reconciliations.
Monitor outstanding receivables and payables and ensure timely follow-up.
Assist with monthly closing, financial reports, and management reporting.
Maintain proper documentation and records of all accounting transactions.
Assist in the preparation and submission of UAE VAT returns and ensure compliance with VAT requirements.
Coordinate with suppliers, customers, banks, and internal departments on finance matters.
Assist with payroll-related accounting activities, as required.
Support audits by providing required financial records and documentation.
Monitor expenses and ensure transactions are properly recorded and supported.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and UAE regulations.
Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.
