Job summary

PO Trading - F.Z.E. seeks an experienced accountant to manage daily general ledger, AP/AR, bank reconciliations and tax compliance in the UAE. The role supports monthly closes, reporting, and internal controls across multiple functions within a dynamic trading setup.

The ideal candidate holds a relevant degree, 5 years of accounting experience, and strong ERP and Excel skills to ensure precise financial records and compliance with IFRS and UAE tax requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Knowledge of IFRS and accounting principles.
• Working knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax.
• Proficiency in ERP systems such as Tally, SAP, Oracle.
• Good command of Microsoft Excel.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily accounting transactions and general ledger.
• Record sales, purchases, expenses, receipts and payments.
• Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
• Perform monthly closing activities.
• Process supplier invoices and payment vouchers.
• Monitor customer outstanding balances and collections.
• Reconcile supplier and customer statements.
• Follow up on overdue receivables and payment schedules.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
• Monitor cash and bank balances.
• Maintain petty cash records.
• Track cash flow and payment commitments.
• Assist in VAT and Corporate Tax calculations and filings.
• Maintain tax records and supporting documents.
• Assist with withholding tax reconciliations.
• Support statutory and tax audits.
• Prepare monthly trial balances.
• Assist in preparing profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
• Prepare expense analysis and accounting schedules.
• Support monthly management reporting.
• Maintain proper accounting records and filing systems.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies.
• Verify invoices, purchase orders and payment approvals.
• Identify discrepancies and report unusual transactions.
