Job summary

athGADLANG is seeking a Senior Accountant on a 3-month contract in Dubai to support budgeting, forecasting and closing activities.

You will coordinate with department heads, prepare monthly accounts, and ensure accuracy across entities.

The role requires ACCA/CPA or finalist, UAE VAT knowledge, and strong Excel/ERP proficiency; you will work with auditors and optimise processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
• Finalist or completed ACCA/CPA/CA/CMA or equivalent qualification is desirable.
• Experience in building and construction or related sector is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax; KSA tax knowledge is a plus.

Senior Accountant (3 months) (Own visa)

Key Responsibilities

Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts in coordination with department heads and project teams, monitoring actual performance against budget.

Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities, including accruals, prepayments, account reconciliations, and intercompany balances, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

Prepare monthly management accounts and closing reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analysis.

Analyse financial performance, project costs, and profit margins, identifying variances, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Ensure compliance with applicable UAE and KSA tax regulations, including VAT, UAE Corporate Tax, KSA Zakat, withholding tax, and ZATCA e-invoicing requirements.

Prepare tax computations, supporting schedules, and documentation, and assist with the timely filing of applicable tax returns.

Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors, prepare audit schedules, and provide supporting documentation for year-end audits.

Maintain accurate financial records and ensure the integrity and consistency of accounting data across multiple entities.

Review financial transactions, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls.

Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, reporting processes, and financial controls.

Prepare financial reports, presentations, and supporting analysis for management and relevant stakeholders.

Coordinate with project teams and other departments to obtain financial information and ensure timely reporting.

Support financial planning, resource allocation, and process optimisation initiatives.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.

Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent, or finalist status in a recognised professional qualification.

Proven experience in the building and construction industry or a related sector.

Hands‑on experience in financial accounting, budget preparation, month‑end closing, management reporting, and financial analysis.

Sound knowledge of UAE tax regulations, including VAT and Corporate Tax, and KSA tax regulations, including VAT, Zakat, and withholding tax.

Experience with account reconciliations, intercompany accounting, financial statements, and audit preparation.

Strong analytical, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.

Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

Experience using accounting software and ERP systems.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet financial reporting deadlines.

Adaptability and a proactive approach to resolving accounting and financial reporting issues.
