Job Purpose

The Security Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the effective delivery of security operations across the organization, ensuring the protection of visitors, staff, collections, assets, facilities, information, and operations.

The role contributes to security risk management, planning, governance, protective security, operational readiness, incident and emergency management, security systems effectiveness, service provider oversight, stakeholder coordination, and continuous improvement.

The Security Supervisor ensures that security requirements and controls are effectively implemented, monitored, and maintained in accordance with approved policies, procedures, standards, applicable requirements, and operational needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Including but not limited to:

  • Coordinate and oversee security operations, ensuring effective implementation of approved security policies, procedures, standards, plans, controls, and operational requirements.
  • Oversee the performance and service delivery of the outsourced security service provider, including operational readiness, deployment, compliance, performance standards, and corrective actions, and provide appropriate operational direction within delegated authority.
  • Conduct and contribute to security risk management, including the identification, assessment, treatment, monitoring, and review of threats, risks, vulnerabilities, emerging concerns, and security controls, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Ensure the effective implementation and monitoring of physical and protective security measures, systems, technologies, and operational controls required to protect people, collections, assets, facilities, information, and operations.
  • Coordinate the response to security incidents, emergencies, breaches, and other security-related occurrences, and conduct or contribute to investigations, reviews, evidence management, corrective actions, and lessons learned.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, review, and continuous improvement of security strategies, governance frameworks, policies, procedures, standards, plans, capabilities, and security controls.
  • Coordinate and oversee security requirements for collections, exhibitions, events, VIP and official visits, projects, operational changes, special activities, and other security-sensitive operations.
  • Contribute to security planning, emergency preparedness, crisis management, business continuity, operational resilience, exercises, and other preparedness and response arrangements within the Security Unit's scope.
  • Conduct security inspections, assessments, assurance activities, and compliance reviews to identify vulnerabilities, deficiencies, non-compliance, and opportunities for improvement, and follow up on required actions.
  • Review, analyze, and prepare security reports, records, operational information, incidents, trends, risks, and performance data to support effective decision-making, escalation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate and liaise with relevant external stakeholders, including government, law enforcement, emergency, regulatory, security, and other concerned entities, on security matters within delegated authority and established protocols.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and functions to identify security requirements, integrate appropriate security controls, and support safe, secure, and effective operations.
  • Contribute to security awareness, training, exercises, competency development, and lessons-learned activities to strengthen security capability and operational readiness.
  • Promote compliance with applicable security requirements, legislation, regulations, policies, standards, confidentiality, and information-handling requirements, and perform other duties within the scope of the Security Unit as required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in security, physical security, security operations, protective security, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating or overseeing security operations within complex, high-profile, high-security, public-facing, or sensitive operational environments.
  • Experience in overseeing outsourced security service providers, including operational performance, deployment, service delivery, compliance, and performance monitoring.
  • Practical experience in physical and protective security operations, security controls, security systems, access management, and other operational security measures.
  • Experience in security risk identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, and operational security reviews.
  • Experience in security incident response, incident management, investigations, evidence handling, and security reporting.
  • Experience in conducting security inspections, operational assessments, compliance reviews, and identifying security vulnerabilities or deficiencies.
  • Experience in security planning and coordination for events, VIP or official visits, high-profile activities, or other security-sensitive operations.
  • Experience in emergency response, crisis preparedness, exercises, and operational coordination.
  • Strong experience in stakeholder coordination and working effectively across multidisciplinary operational environments.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience within museums, cultural institutions, heritage sites, major visitor attractions, government facilities, critical or sensitive facilities, or comparable high-profile environments.
  • Experience in the protection of collections, exhibitions, cultural property, high-value assets, or other sensitive assets.
  • Experience working or coordinating with government authorities, law enforcement agencies, emergency services, regulatory authorities, or external security stakeholders.
  • Experience in security risk assessment, Threat, Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (TRVA), or comparable security assessment methodologies.
  • Experience in security governance, assurance, audit, compliance, business continuity, crisis management, or operational resilience.
  • Experience working within the UAE or GCC security environment.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Security Studies, Risk Management, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Business Continuity, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional security qualifications, certifications, or specialized training are preferred.
  • Training or certification in security risk management, incident management, investigations, emergency management, crisis management, or business continuity is an advantage.
  • Training or practical knowledge of physical security systems and protective security technologies is preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable UAE security-related requirements, regulations, standards, and operational practices is preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CPP, PSP, PCI, or equivalent recognized security qualifications are an advantage.

The position is a client-side Security Unit role responsible for overseeing and coordinating security requirements and service delivery on behalf of the organization and should not be interpreted as a supervisory position within the outsourced security service provider.
