Position Overview: Secondary French Teacher - IGCSE in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a full‑time education role for a qualified and passionate French language teacher with strong experience teaching French across IGCSE, A‑Level, and senior secondary grades. This position is ideal for an immediately available candidate who can design effective curriculum plans, deliver engaging French lessons, assess student progress, and support learners in building confidence, fluency, grammar accuracy, writing skills, and cultural awareness.
Role Context: The Secondary French Teacher - IGCSE will be responsible for planning and delivering French lessons that support senior secondary students preparing for international curriculum assessments. The role requires strong command of French and English, effective classroom management, curriculum planning ability, and the confidence to guide students through structured language learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach French to secondary and senior secondary students, including IGCSE and A‑Level learners.
- Plan and deliver engaging French lessons that develop listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation skills.
- Design effective curriculum plans that support student learning, participation, engagement, and academic progress.
- Prepare lesson plans, classroom activities, assessments, assignments, revision materials, and language practice tasks.
- Support students in preparing for IGCSE French assessments and senior secondary language requirements.
- Assess student performance through tests, classwork, projects, oral activities, written tasks, and curriculum‑based evaluations.
- Maintain accurate academic records, progress reports, assessment results, and student learning documentation.
- Provide constructive feedback to help students improve fluency, accuracy, confidence, and examination performance.
- Offer academic guidance, mentoring, and additional support to students when required.
- Use interactive teaching methods, conversation practice, reading activities, role‑play, writing tasks, and digital resources to improve engagement.
- Encourage appreciation of French language, Francophone culture, communication skills, and global awareness.
- Maintain strong classroom management and create a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership regarding student progress and support needs.
- Work collaboratively with department colleagues to improve curriculum delivery and teaching standards.
- Follow school policies related to safeguarding, inclusion, student welfare, and professional conduct.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in French is required.
- B.Ed. qualification will be an added advantage.
- Proven experience teaching French to IGCSE students.
- Experience teaching French across A‑Level and senior secondary grades is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills in French and English.
- Candidates currently available in the UAE are preferred.
- Immediate availability to join is preferred.
- Candidates under spouse visa will be preferred.
