Head of French – Secondary in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a senior Primary-Secondary Education opportunity for an experienced French teacher who can lead high‑quality language learning, support curriculum excellence, and inspire students across GCSE and A Level pathways. Key Responsibilities
  • Teach French to secondary students across GCSE and A Level or equivalent British curriculum pathways.
  • Lead high‑quality French language learning through well‑planned lessons, clear objectives, and strong subject knowledge.
  • Support students in developing confidence in speaking, listening, reading, writing, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and cultural awareness.
  • Share exemplary teaching practices with colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement across the department.
  • Plan engaging and differentiated lessons that challenge students while supporting different abilities and learning styles.
  • Monitor, assess, record, and report student progress using meaningful evidence and clear academic expectations.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments, public examinations, language activities, and curriculum‑related performance goals.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development, assessment design, and department improvement initiatives.
  • Create a classroom environment that promotes curiosity, confidence, creativity, respect, mindfulness, and active participation.
  • Work closely with colleagues, parents, students, school leaders, and wider teaching teams to support student success.

Ideal Profile
  • BEd or Bachelor's degree with PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • French subject qualification or strong academic background in French language education.
  • Proven experience teaching French to GCSE and A Level classes.
  • Experience in a British curriculum or international school environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong record of delivering outstanding learning and teaching outcomes.
  • Ability to share effective classroom practice and support high standards within the French department.
  • Creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for working closely with colleagues, students, parents, and leadership teams.
