Job summary

The Lana in Dubai (Dorchester Collection) seeks a Seamstress/Tailor to maintain and repair uniforms and linens for our luxury team and guests. You will support tailoring requests and collaborate with the Valet and Housekeeping teams to ensure the highest standards of craft.

Applicants should have at least 3 years in a luxury hotel setting, excellent English communication, and strong attention to detail. A proactive, guest‑focused attitude and tidy organization are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and precision in sewing and alterations.
• Excellent communication and guest service orientation.
• Fluent English; strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Organized, multi-tasking and able to work in luxury hotel environments.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in luxury hotel tailoring or seamstress work.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with uniform management systems.

Responsibilities

• Repair and alteration of uniforms, linen and related items to ensure high guest satisfaction.
• Assist guests with tailoring requests and support the Valet team with adjustments.
• Issue, label, and manage employee uniforms; keep reports and inventories up to date.
• Ensure cleanliness of items, check for stains/damages, and coordinate with laundry.
• Maintain proper paperwork and monthly reports for uniforms and equipment.

What You’ll Do

• You will be responsible for the repair of all uniforms, linen and any other items and to ensure our guests receive nothing but the best experience.
• You will assist guest on request for any tailoring items
• You will assist the Valet team to sew any buttons and repair any small damage.
• You will issue new colleagues with uniforms, adjust as required, label and order as necessary.
• You will be responsible for assisting in issuing and collecting uniforms based on department and employee uniform number.
• Check all items to ensure they are clean, stain free, not damaged.
• Provide assistance for laundry, linen room as required.
• Issue new uniforms as new employees arrive, ensure they sign and all sets are issued according to standard.
• Ensure all paperwork is up to date, and monthly reports are prepared for all uniforms sent out.
• Completes inventories of uniforms and updates on any missing, damaged, stained items.
• Highlight any deficits not returned from the laundry and any stained or discarded items.
• Ensure follow up on all outstanding items to be delivered.
• Keep all areas clean and tidy and stocked correctly.

• You will have a high school education and bring your past experience working for luxury hotels.
