Job summary

Rakhat Construction is seeking a qualified Safety Officer to monitor and maintain health, safety, and environmental standards across construction and industrial project sites in the United Arab Emirates. You will hold a relevant bachelor’s degree, recognised safety certifications (such as NEBOSH IGC), and a minimum of two years’ HSE experience on construction sites.

You’ll lead risk assessments, site inspections, incident reporting, toolbox talks, PPE enforcement, inductions, and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Safety, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of professional HSE experience in construction safety.
• Recognised health and safety certifications (NEBOSH IGC, BSc, NVQ or equivalent).
• All degree and safety certifications must be attested.
• Copies of professional training certificates required.
• Proof of relevant experience, such as visa records with HSE job title.
• Knowledge of UAE health and safety regulations and construction-site requirements.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor company and project HSE policies.
• Conduct regular site inspections and identify unsafe conditions.
• Ensure compliance with approved method statements, risk assessments, and permit-to-work procedures.
• Monitor proper use of PPE and enforce safe working practices.
• Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions.
• Report and investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts.
• Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, training records, and safety documentation.
• Monitor high-risk activities including work at height, lifting, excavation, hot work, and confined-space work.
• Coordinate with project teams and subcontractors to resolve safety issues.
• Promote a strong safety culture across the project site.
