Job summary

MIRAL LLC is seeking a skilled Safety Officer to join our on-site team for construction projects in the UAE. You will implement HSE policies and monitor performance, liaising with the Safety Manager and Contractors to uphold safety standards.

Requirements include a Diploma or B.Sc. in a relevant field, NEBOSH/IOSH certificates, Trakhees card or willingness to obtain, and 3+ years of construction supervision experience in the UAE. UAE driving license is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or B.Sc. in environmental/loss prevention or related engineering.
• Recognised Health and Safety education and NEBOSH/IOSH certificates.
• Trakhees card holder or willingness to obtain it.
• At least 3+ years of construction supervision as a Safety Officer.
• Experience in UAE construction projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement HSE policy and plan, monitor performance and targets.
• Coordinate with Safety Manager and Contractors on HSE ethics.
• Monitor contractors for safe practices and compliance with measures.
• Review monthly HSE inspections/reports from contractors.
• Lead monthly safety meetings and document minutes for follow-up.
• Review emergency preparedness, permit-to-work, HSE meetings, statistics & records.
• Investigate incidents and communicate learnings, ensure timely follow-up actions.
• Perform other responsibilities as required.

Job description

We are looking for a skilled Safety officer to join our team!

Work format: On-site (Project Office, Construction Site)

Responsibilities

• Implement HSE Policy, HSE Plan, and HSE legislation and other requirements, monitor HSE performance, and HSE targets, and suggest measures for further improvement


• Liaise with Safety Manager and Contractors for the improvement & implementation of Corporate HSE Management ethics


• Monitor contractors to ensure the implementation of applicable Safety measures and best practices


• Review and Monitor Contractors' monthly HSE inspections/reports


• Conducting monthly Safety meetings, setting the target to achieve the outstanding issues, prepare / submit the minutes to all concerned for follow-up


• Review Emergency Preparedness and response, Permit to work system, HSE meetings, HSE statistics & records of the contractors according to Company requirements


• Review Incident/Accident investigation reports from contractors, report & communicating the learning points, and monitor the immediate action and follow-up actions to minimise/prevent re-occurrence


• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma or B.Sc. or equivalent degree in environmental/loss prevention or any relevant engineering disciplines from an accredited university


• With recognised Health and Safety education, SARS card (training in UAE will be a plus) or NEBOSH/IOSH certificates


• Trakhees card holder or desire to get it


• At least 3+ years of construction supervision experience working as a Safety Officer


• Recent experience in construction supervision


• Preferably with experience the in UAE and with a driving license is an advantage
