Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in the elevator industry.
• NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certification.
• Valid UAE Driving License (Mandatory).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong reporting, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies and procedures.
• Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with UAE safety regulations and company safety standards.
• Monitor elevator installation, maintenance, and modernization activities for safe work practices.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training for employees and subcontractors.
• Investigate incidents and prepare detailed corrective action reports.
• Maintain HSE documentation, permits, and reports.
• Coordinate emergency response procedures and drills.
• Identify hazards and implement preventive measures.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities on safety matters.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment across installation, maintenance, and modernization projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with UAE safety regulations and company safety standards.
• Monitor elevator installation, maintenance, and modernization activities to ensure safe work practices.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness training for employees and subcontractors.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions.
• Maintain HSE documentation, records, permits, and reports.
• Coordinate emergency response procedures and drills.
• Identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities on safety-related matters.
• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to site safety requirements.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Safety Officer, preferably within the elevator industry.
• NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certification is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and industry best practices.
• Valid UAE Driving License (Mandatory).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong reporting, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple project sites.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Experience with elevator installation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning projects.
• Hands-on experience in conducting safety audits and inspections.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of enforcing safety standards effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to train and influence teams.
