Job summary

Parsons in Abu Dhabi seeks a talented Safety Officer to join our team, liaising with Safety Manager and contractors to enhance Corporate HSE management ethics on infrastructure projects. The role requires governance of safety policies, risk assessments, and site inspections.

The ideal candidate holds a degree or diploma in engineering, 5+ years of HSE experience in infrastructure, and UAE certifications (NEBOSH/OSHAD). In-person interviews in UAE are expected.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in health and safety on infrastructure projects.
• UAE-recognized certifications (NEBOSH, OSHAD, First Aid, Fire Safety).
• Ability to attend in-person interviews in UAE.

Responsibilities

• Implement HSE policy, plan, and monitor performance.
• Liaise with Safety Manager and Contractors for HSE ethics.
• Monitor contractors and ensure safety measures.
• Review Hazard Analysis / Risk Assessments and JSA.
• Conduct monthly safety meetings and prepare minutes.
• Review Emergency Preparedness, permit to work, toolbox talks.
• Review incident/accident investigations and communicate learnings.
• Perform other responsibilities as appropriate.

Parsons is looking for a talented Safety Officer to join our team!

In this role you will get to liaise with Safety Manager and Contractors for the improvement & implementation of Corporate HSE Management ethics.

• What You'll Be Doing:
• Implement Parsons HSE Policy, HSE Plan and HSE legislation and other requirements, monitor HSE performance, and HSE targets, and suggest measures for further improvement.
• Liaise with Safety Manager and Contractors for the improvement & implementation of Corporate HSE Management ethics.
• Monitor contractors to ensure the implementation of applicable Safety measures and best practices.
• Review Hazard Analysis / Risk Assessment Plan for all key activities and Monitor the effectiveness of hazard control measures, job safety plans, and work method statements at the site and carry out HSE visit and report to Resident Engineer for immediate rectification.
• Review and Monitor Contractors' monthly HSE inspections/reports.
• Conducting monthly Safety meetings, setting the target to achieve the outstanding issues, prepare / submit the minutes to all concerned for follow-up.
• Review Emergency Preparedness and response, Permit to work system, Toolbox Talks, HSE meetings, HSE statistics & records of the contractors according to Company requirements.
• Review Incident/Accident investigation reports from contractors, report & communicating the learning points, and monitor the immediate action and follow-up actions to minimize/prevent re-occurrence.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
• What Required Skills You'll Bring:
• A Degree or Diploma preferably in Engineering or any relevant discipline from a recognized University.
• At least 5+ years of related work experience in the field of Health and Safety within infrastructure related projects.
• With recognized Health and Safety education, certifications (ADVETI), license or training in UAE (e.g. NEBOSH, OSHAD - Qudorat/ADOSH SF, First Aid, Fire Safety, etc)
• Able to attend in-person interviews in UAE.
• What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
• At least 2 years of recent experience in construction supervision of infrastructure work.
• Preferably with relevant experience working in an engineering consulting firm.
• Preferably with experience the in UAE and with a driving license is an advantage.
