Job summary

Nova International General Contracting L.L.C is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to supervise road and related civil works in Abu Dhabi. You will ensure safety, quality, and adherence to approved designs and Abu Dhabi authority requirements.

You will coordinate with utilities, drainage and authorities, monitor resources and productivity, and lead on-site teams to meet project milestones on flagship developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of road/infrastructure supervision experience.
• Knowledge of UAE and Abu Dhabi codes, standards and authority requirements.
• Ability to review IFC drawings, specs, ITPs and shop drawings.
• Experience coordinating with Consultants, Contractors, utilities and authorities.
• Strong site supervision, coordination and communication skills.

Job Description

Responsible for supervising and coordinating road and associated civil construction activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, to the required quality standards, and in accordance with approved designs, specifications, programme, applicable codes, and Abu Dhabi authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise subcontractors undertaking road and associated civil works.
• Oversee earthworks, grading, subgrade preparation, pavement layers, kerbs, footpaths, road markings, signage, and associated infrastructure works.
• Ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and applicable authority requirements.
• Coordinate road construction activities with utilities, drainage, landscape, structures, and other disciplines.
• Monitor subcontractor productivity, manpower, materials, equipment, and progress.
• Coordinate inspections, material testing, field testing, and approvals with the Consultant.
• Liaise with relevant authorities regarding road inspections, approvals, clearances, and connections/interfaces.
• Identify construction issues, design conflicts, utility interfaces, and other constraints and coordinate their resolution.
• Monitor quality of workmanship and ensure defects, NCRs, and observations are rectified and closed.
• Coordinate road completion, snagging, testing, authority approvals, and handover.
• Ensure road construction activities comply with applicable Abu Dhabi codes, regulations, road standards, specifications, and authority requirements.
• Coordinate with relevant Abu Dhabi authorities and stakeholders for road approvals, inspections, traffic management, access requirements, and handover.
• Provide technical guidance to site teams and subcontractors on road construction methodology, sequencing, and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in road, infrastructure, and civil construction supervision, preferably on major development or infrastructure projects.
• Strong practical experience in supervising road construction, earthworks, pavement works, kerbs, footpaths, road markings, signage, and associated infrastructure.
• Good knowledge of applicable UAE and Abu Dhabi road codes, standards, specifications, regulations, and authority requirements.
• Strong understanding of Abu Dhabi road design and construction requirements, including applicable requirements of DMT/municipal authorities and other relevant government entities.
• Familiarity with Abu Dhabi authority approval, inspection, NOC, and handover processes related to road and infrastructure works.
• Ability to review and interpret IFC drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, shop drawings, material submittals, and authority-approved documents.
• Good understanding of earthworks, pavement construction, material testing, compaction requirements, levels, grading, drainage interfaces, and road finishing works.
• Experience coordinating with Consultants, Contractors, Subcontractors, Utility Providers, and Government/Authority representatives.
• Strong site supervision, coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
