Parsons Corporation is hiring a technically strong engineer to coordinate site execution, maintain compliance with approved designs, and support the timely delivery of infrastructure projects in accordance with Dubai Municipality and RTA standards.
Role Context
The Road Engineer - Roads and Infrastructure will oversee daily construction activities across assigned project sites in Dubai. The position is responsible for ensuring that roadworks, drainage systems, utilities, and associated civil infrastructure are completed according to approved drawings, technical specifications, quality requirements, safety procedures, and contractual schedules. Working closely with contractors, consultants, subcontractors, and government authorities, the engineer will monitor progress, resolve technical issues, verify workmanship, and maintain accurate site records. The role directly supports project quality, regulatory compliance, construction efficiency, and successful infrastructure delivery.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily road construction, drainage, utility, and infrastructure activities across assigned work areas.
- Verify that construction is executed in accordance with approved drawings, method statements, specifications, and project requirements.
- Inspect earthworks, subgrade preparation, aggregate base courses, asphalt paving, kerbs, footpaths, and associated road elements.
- Monitor stormwater drainage works, pipelines, manholes, culverts, chambers, and utility interfaces.
- Review site progress against approved schedules and identify potential delays, constraints, or resource shortages.
- Prepare accurate daily, weekly, and periodic progress reports for project management review.
- Coordinate site activities with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, utility providers, and relevant authorities.
- Conduct inspections and verify that completed works meet required quality standards before approval.
- Review inspection requests, material submissions, test results, and construction documentation.
- Support coordination with Dubai Municipality, the Roads and Transport Authority, and other regulatory stakeholders.
- Identify technical discrepancies, constructability concerns, and conflicts between drawings and actual site conditions.
- Recommend practical engineering solutions while maintaining design intent and contractual compliance.
- Monitor contractor compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Participate in progress meetings, technical discussions, site coordination sessions, and quality reviews.
- Maintain organized records of inspections, approvals, non-conformance reports, corrective actions, and completed works.
- Assist with testing, commissioning, snagging, and handover activities for completed infrastructure packages.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in road and infrastructure construction projects.
- Proven experience supervising major infrastructure works within the United Arab Emirates.
- Strong technical knowledge of road construction, asphalt works, drainage systems, utilities, and civil engineering practices.
- Practical understanding of Dubai Municipality and RTA specifications, procedures, and approval requirements.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, specifications, method statements, and construction schedules.
- Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and government authorities.
- Strong site inspection, reporting, technical evaluation, and construction problem‑solving capabilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to quality, safety, and project deadlines.
