Job summary

Majid Al Futtaim is seeking a Manager - General Ledger Finance in Dubai to lead general ledger activities, oversee month-end closings, ensure IFRS compliance, and coordinate with auditors and business units across hypermarket and supermarket operations.

The role requires 6+ years in finance/accounting, strong leadership, and expertise in cost control and process improvements within a large retail network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• MBA or postgraduate qualification in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is preferred.
• Minimum six years of experience within a finance or accounting department.
• Demonstrated experience in a finance managerial or team leadership role.
• At least two years of experience in retail, supermarkets, hypermarkets, FMCG, or related consumer business.
• Strong knowledge of international accounting standards and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger accounts across hypermarket and supermarket operations.
• Establish financial control mechanisms to ensure budgets, accounting policies, and procedures are followed.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
• Coordinate external audit activities and respond to auditor requests for accounting information.
• Lead improvements to finance policies, procedures, and control frameworks.
• Monitor cost-saving initiatives and drive cost reduction across the country.
