Job summary

Proxima Networks seeks an experienced Resident Network & Security Engineer to provide on-site L1 and L2 support for enterprise network and security infrastructure at a client location in Dubai. The role requires strong Cisco networking and security expertise and the ability to independently manage day-to-day network operations while coordinating with L3 for complex issues.

You'll coordinate with third-party providers, maintain accurate network documentation, and ensure timely incident resolution

Qualifications

• 5+ years enterprise network/security experience.
• Strong hands-on Cisco networking and security.
• Experience providing L1/L2 support in enterprise environments.
• Good understanding of incident management and escalation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site L1 and L2 network and security support, escalating to L3 when needed.
• Administer and troubleshoot Cisco Routers, Catalyst Switches, Firepower, ISE, 9800-L Wireless Controllers, and APs.
• Manage VLANs, routing, QoS, VPN, NAT, firewall policies, and wireless SSIDs.
• Perform network monitoring using WhatsUp Gold and document incidents.

Job Overview

Proxima Networks seeks an experienced Resident Network & Security Engineer to provide on-site L1 and L2 technical support for enterprise network and security infrastructure at a client location in Dubai.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on Cisco networking and security experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to independently manage day-to-day network operations while coordinating with L3 support for complex technical issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide on-site L1 and L2 network and security support, escalating complex issues to L3 support when required.
• Administer and troubleshoot Cisco Routers, Catalyst Switches, Firepower, ISE, 9800-L Wireless Controllers, and Access Points.
• Manage VLANs, routing, QoS, VPN, NAT, firewall policies, and wireless SSIDs.
• Perform network monitoring using WhatsUp Gold.
• Execute Cisco IOS/FTD upgrades and configuration backups.
• Handle network security and access-policy changes through approved change processes.
• Troubleshoot MPLS, cloud, and connectivity issues with relevant third-party providers.
• Manage network incidents and service requests in accordance with agreed SLAs.
• Coordinate with L3 support teams and third-party providers to ensure timely issue resolution.
• Maintain accurate network documentation, incident records, and change logs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of enterprise network/security experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking and security.
• Experience providing L1/L2 support in enterprise network environments.
• Good understanding of incident management, troubleshooting, and technical escalation procedures.
• CCNA/CCNP or equivalent experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer-facing skills.
