Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Abu Dhabi seeks a Resident Engineer Cables to lead underground cable infrastructure projects on site. You will oversee trenching, duct banks, cable laying, joint bays, and related civil works, ensuring compliance with design drawings and standards.

The role requires 10 years of HV cable project experience, strong QA/QC and HSE knowledge, and the ability to coordinate diverse teams. Travel within the region is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 10 years of experience in infrastructure or utility projects with underground cable works.
• Proven experience in managing high-voltage cable projects.
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC, HSE regulations and construction methods.
• Familiar with GCC/UAE regulations; leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the construction of underground cable projects.
• Ensure works follow drawings, specs, and project standards.
• Monitor contractor progress and QA/QC compliance.
• Review method statements, shop drawings and material submittals.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical and utility teams.
• Lead site meetings and report project status and risks.
• Oversee testing, commissioning and final handover.
