Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Resident Engineer – Civil for substations (132 kV and above) in the Abu Dhabi region. You will lead all civil works, ensuring compliance with designs, specs, and HSE standards while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure on-time delivery.

With 10+ years of civil and power infrastructure experience, you will oversee contractor performance, document progress, and drive successful handovers of civil components across high-voltage projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in civil engineering with substantial substation/power infra exposure.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale substations.
• Strong QA/QC, safety (HSE) standards knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil construction activities for substation projects (foundations, control buildings, trenches).
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specs, and international/local standards.
• Monitor contractor performance, quality, and schedule adherence.
• Review and approve method statements, shop drawings, submittals and procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections for quality and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with electrical/mechanical disciplines for integrated works.
• Act as site 대표 between client, contractor and supervision team.
• Manage technical issues, site challenges and contractual matters.
• Maintain documentation, progress reports and site records.
• Lead site meetings and report risks and mitigation measures.
• Oversee testing, commissioning support and handover of civil components.
