Awake Solutions is seeking an Applied Research Engineer to bridge research and production by turning state-of-the-art models into reliable, scalable systems. You will prototype ideas, optimize latency and cost, and collaborate with researchers to deliver customer value.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in ML engineering or applied research.
• Hands-on with model optimization, quantization, distillation and inference engineering.
• Experience deploying ML models on cloud services and container orchestration (K8s).
• Familiarity with model monitoring, A/B testing and rollout strategies.

Responsibilities

• Prototype research ideas into scalable production services and demos.
• Reproduce and optimize models for inference in collaboration with researchers.
• Optimize model latency, throughput and cost for production constraints.
• Instrument experiments and maintain reproducible pipelines for model deployment.
• Collaborate with product to prioritize research for user impact.
