The role works across design, operations and maintenance interfaces, translating equipment performance data into practical reliability strategies. Through RAM modeling, FMEA, fault tree analysis and lifecycle assessment, the specialist helps project teams improve asset resilience, reduce unplanned downtime and make better-informed decisions on maintenance and spare parts requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Reliability, Availability and Maintainability studies for infrastructure systems, equipment and operational assets.
• Develop quantitative RAM models to assess expected system performance and operational availability.
• Build and maintain reliability block diagrams for complex systems and equipment configurations.
• Conduct fault tree analyses to evaluate failure pathways and system-level risk.
• Support Failure Modes and Effects Analysis and Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis activities.
• Analyze historical equipment failure data to identify recurring trends, weak points and reliability concerns.
• Apply statistical methods to estimate failure behavior, reliability characteristics and equipment performance.
• Perform Weibull analysis and other reliability calculations where appropriate.
• Develop reliability assumptions, parameters and technical inputs for engineering studies.
• Evaluate system redundancy, maintainability and repair assumptions within RAM models.
• Provide reliability engineering input during design development and technical decision-making.
• Recommend improvements that increase asset availability and reduce operational disruption.
• Support Reliability Centered Maintenance studies and development of maintenance strategies.
• Contribute to preventive and predictive maintenance planning based on equipment criticality and failure behavior.
• Assist with spare parts optimization by evaluating failure rates, repair times and operational requirements.
• Support lifecycle cost analysis and long-term asset performance forecasting.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations and maintenance teams to resolve reliability concerns.

Ideal Profile

Candidates should hold a bachelor 's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline and have at least 5 years of professional experience in RAM analysis, reliability engineering or asset performance management. Strong practical experience with quantitative reliability modeling is required. Candidates should understand reliability block diagrams, fault tree analysis, FMEA, FMECA, Weibull analysis and statistical reliability methods. Proficiency with specialist RAM software such as Isograph, ReliaSoft or an equivalent platform is important. Experience handling equipment failure data and converting analysis into actionable engineering or maintenance recommendations will be particularly valuable. Knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, lifecycle cost analysis and asset management principles is also expected. Experience gained within transportation, infrastructure, oil and gas, power generation or another asset-intensive environment will strengthen suitability for the position. Professional certification such as CMRP or CRE will be advantageous.
