Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Traffic Safety Site Engineer in the UAE to plan, implement, monitor, and maintain traffic management for a major rail project. You will ensure safe movement of workers, the public, and project vehicles, complying with local regulations and international standards.

You will work with construction teams, railway systems contractors, authorities, and stakeholders to minimize disruptions, conduct risk assessments, and lead health and safety initiatives throughout the project

Qualifications

• 10+ years in traffic engineering, road safety, or construction traffic management.
• Experience on major infrastructure projects including rail, highways or airports.
• Experience in active traffic environments and complex urban settings.
• GCC or international rail project experience preferred.
• Proven management of health, safety and environmental aspects on large projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and implement Construction Traffic Management Plans (CTMPs).
• Review and approve traffic diversion schemes and detour plans.
• Coordinate road closures, lane reductions, and traffic switchovers with authorities.
• Ensure traffic management measures support safe construction with minimal public disruption.
• Review traffic impact assessments for construction activities.
• Interpret, organize, and coordinate technical assignments with minimal supervision.
• Carry out traffic-related risk assessments and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA).
• Identify hazards near live traffic and rail corridors; implement mitigations.
