Job summary

AECOM in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Traffic Safety Engineer to oversee traffic safety operations on construction projects. You will ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi WZTM and local authority standards, and promote safety for road users and workers.

You will lead TTCP development, site inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations, coordinating with authorities, contractors, and project teams to deliver safe, compliant work zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation/Traffic Engineering or a related discipline (Master's degree a plus).
• Professional engineering registration/chartered status is often preferred (e.g., PE, CEng, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and approve TTCPs in line with DMT regulations and Abu Dhabi WZTM.
• Plan and design safe work zones with lane closures, detours, and pedestrian routes.
• Monitor contractor compliance and enforce corrective actions for safety.
• Lead incident investigations and develop preventive actions.
• Liaise with Abu Dhabi authorities to secure approvals and ensure compliance.
