Job summary

SAAS Properties in Abu Dhabi is seeking a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to manage pre-contract and post-contract commercial activities on flagship developments. You will oversee cost control, procurement, variations, and payment certification to keep projects on budget and aligned with contractual requirements.

Reporting to the project team, you will review BOQs, prepare cost estimates, monitor cash-flow, and coordinate with site engineers and managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in Quantity Surveying or a commercial role in construction.
• Strong knowledge of BOQs, valuations, variations, and cost control; proficient in MS Excel; strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders while working independently.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, prepare and review BOQs, take off quantities, and prepare cost estimates and tender pricing
• Issue RFPs, evaluate quotations, and identify cost-saving and value engineering opportunities
• Administer main contracts, subcontracts, and supplier orders; monitor costs against budget and prepare cash-flow forecasts
• Assess variations, change orders, and EOT claims
• Review interim payment applications, verify progress through site visits, and prepare payment certificates
• Carry out site measurements and verify works against approved drawings; coordinate with site engineers and project managers
• Maintain variation and claims registers and support final account settlement

Role Description The Quantity Surveyor manages the pre-contract and post-contract commercial activities of construction projects, covering cost control, measurement, procurement, contract administration, payment certification, variations, and financial reporting to keep projects within budget and contractual requirements.
