Job summary

SGS in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Quality Control Inspector (Civil) to oversee on-site civil and structural inspections. You will verify compliance with project specifications, ITPs, and international standards while coordinating with QA/QC teams to resolve quality issues.

Requirements include a Civil Engineering degree and 5–8 years’ EPC/construction experience, preferably in oil & gas or petrochemical sectors. On-site role with a focus on non-conformance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of Civil QCI in EPC/construction projects (oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial sectors).
• Familiar with project specifications, QA/QC procedures, ITPs, and method statements.
• Knowledge of international standards (ASTM, ACI, BS, ISO).

Responsibilities

• Civil inspection activities: inspect excavation, formwork, rebar, concrete, finishing, and backfilling.
• Verify materials and workmanship comply with project specs, standards, and ITP.
• Review civil work procedures, method statements, and checklists before execution.
• Ensure drawings/latest revisions are used on site.
• Witness and document QC tests (slump, cube, compaction, etc.).

Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure quality requirements are met. Support continuous improvement of quality systems and site processes. Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of experience as a Civil QCI in EPC or construction projects (preferably in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial sectors, early civil works, concrete works, road and compaction activities).
