Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned QA/QC professional to implement and manage the site QA/QC system for coastal/marine construction projects in Abu Dhabi.

You will coordinate inspections, audits, and documentation with subcontractors, clients, and the site construction team, ensuring compliance with Eurocode, British Standards, and local regulations.

The role emphasizes strong communication, safety, and continuous improvement of the project quality management system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, coastal, structural or geotechnical engineering.
• 5+ years on coastal, marine or construction projects with QA/QC exposure.
• Experience managing a QA/QC program at a construction site.
• ISO 9001:2015 auditor experience.
• Knowledge of Eurocode, British Standards, and local regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Implement the QA/QC management system at site.
• Coordinate the quality inspections with all the site subcontractors and vendors and coordinate all testing on site.
• Coordinate with the client representative on all quality matters.
• Distribute relevant QA/QC documentation to site subcontractors.
• Verify that the quality related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards.
• Participate in the site internal and external site audits.
• Ensure all quality control documentation is compliant and completed for as-built drawings.
• Control all nonconformance reports and undertake remedial action.
• Review the client specifications.
• Monitor the implementation of the approved site QC Plan.
• Complete and coordinate the approval of the sites QC technical submittals to the client.
• Coordinate with the site construction manager on all quality issues and lead the QA/QC site weekly meetings with the project’s subcontractors.
• Oversee the inspection and test programs.
• Ensure safety is adhered to at the site.
• Assure all technical documents relative to site quality control are up-to-date.
• Control and distribute all the company’s quality documentation and monitor all issued nonconformance reports.
• Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system.
• Recommend and implement improvements when required.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of related experience, with exposure to coastal, marine, geotechnical, and structural engineering, and construction projects; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil, coastal, structural or geotechnical engineering, or a related field of study.
• Advanced degree in civil, coastal, structural or geotechnical engineering, or a related field of study (desirable).
• Experience managing a quality assurance and control program at a construction site.
• Experience as an auditor (ISO9001:2015).
• Strong oral and technical writing skills.
• Experience with international design standards including Eurocode and British Standards as well as industry practice and local regulations.
