Job summary

Gulf Contracting & Landscaping (GCL) seeks a QA/QC Engineer to ensure construction activities comply with project specs, quality standards, codes and contractual requirements. The role focuses on implementing and maintaining the QMS, conducting inspections, and coordinating with project stakeholders.

You will manage QA/QC documents, support internal and external audits, and drive non-conformance resolution on civil, architectural and structural works at site and off-site.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality and workmanship across Civil, Architectural and Structural disciplines.
• Develop and implement method statements, risk assessments, and ITPs per project specs.
• Conduct daily inspections and tests on site and off-site as required by drawings.
• Prepare QA/QC documentation, NCRs, and close non-conformances with owners/consultants.
• Coordinate with consultants, site in-charge and subcontractors for quality issues.
• Maintain and distribute project quality documentation and support PQP audits.
• Attend quality meetings and chair QA/QC related sessions with project teams.
• Oversee receipt inspections and ensure compliance with codes and standards.

Job description

The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities comply with project specifications, quality standards, applicable codes, and contractual requirements. The role involves implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS), conducting inspections, managing quality documentation, and coordinating with project stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of quality construction works.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the quality and workmanship of every activity, thorough knowledge of all phases of engineering construction relating to Civil, Architectural and Structural discipline interfacing the multidisciplinary operations.
• Develop method statement for the activity including risk assessment and job safety environmental analysis and Inspection Test Plan and Checklist based on specifications of the project.
• Perform all daily inspection and test of the scope and character necessary to achieve the quality of construction required in the drawings and specifications for all works under the contract performed ON or OFF site.
• Cary out inspection and checking for all quality related procedures in the site and ensures activity at the site are as per approved method statement and inspection test plan.
• Coordinate with the consultant’s representative and Site In-charge for inspection and meeting about quality problems including the closure of Non-Compliance Report.
• Report to the QA/QC Manager, control, and monitor all activities related to Quality Management System, QMS.
• Taking care of QA/QC documents of the entire project including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports and site instruction/observations, permanent materials delivered and other QA/QC documents.
• Responsible for the closure of Non-conformance, NCR and Site Instruction, SI.
• Carry out Internal Audit at the site as scheduled in the Project Quality Plan, PQP.
• Liaise the Technical Engineer for submission of material submittals to Consultant.
• The preparation & implementation of project Quality Plan and supervision of all amendments and revisions
• Control and the distribution of all the Project quality documentation
• Attend all project related quality meetings and coordinate all project requirements with the client/consultant/sub-contractors/vendors.
• Coordinate all QA/QC activities with the site teams
• Coordinate all QA/QC activities with the site QA/QC procurement manager
• Coordinate all quality related correspondence with the customers representatives.
• Coordinate all the quality site inspections through the site QC inspectors.
• Ensure all quality control documentation is complied and competed for as-built hand over through the project turnover engineer
• Control all nonconformance reports and undertake corrective & preventive actions.
• Coordinate with the site construction manager on all quality issues Coordinate and attend the QA/QC site weekly meetings with the projects subcontractors QC personnel
• Implement the QA/QC management system at site
• Coordinate with quality inspections with all the site sub contractors and vendors coordinate all non destructive testing on site
• Coordinate with the customers representative on all quality matters
• Coordinate all receipt inspections
• Distribute relevant QA/QC documentation to site subcontractors
• Verify that the quality related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards
• Participate in the site internal and external site audits
• Coordinate all the quality site inspections through the site QC inspectors
• Ensure all quality control documentation is complied and competed for as-built hand over through the QC turnover engineer
• Control all nonconformance reports and undertake remedial action
• Compete site quality control instructions and action remedial responses
• Review the customers specification and undertake relevant training to the site QC inspector
• Monitor the implementation of the approved site QC Plan
• Complete and coordinate the approval of the sites QC technical submittals to the customer
• Coordinate with the site construction manager on all quality issues Coordinate and chair the QA/QC site weekly meetings with the projects subcontractors QC personnel
• Elaborating inspection and test programs
• Ensure the safety is adhered to at site
• Assure all technical documents relative to site quality control are current status.

Required Skills:

• Planning, assigning, directing and reviewing the QA/QCwork of a professional staff and support staff.
• Implementing, interpreting and explaining policies, procedures, rules and regulations related to QA/QC matters under relevant scope of works.
• Reading and interpreting Contract Documents, Bill of quantity preambles, drawings and specifications.
• Providing outstanding customer satisfaction (internally and externally).
• Using of common office software including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to overview situations, review and evaluate, defining set plans to achieve business goals.
• Problem solving at a strategic level, working with others to reach a resolution.
