Job summary

Al Jazeerah Drilling LLC in the UAE is seeking a highly experienced QA/QC Engineer – Piling to join our team. The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years UAE QA/QC experience in piling and foundation projects, with expertise in inspection procedures, ITPs, MIR/WIR, and quality documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of inspection procedures, ITPs, MIR, WIR, NCR, RFI, QA/QC procedures and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain QA/QC procedures and inspection plans for piling works.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, method statements, ITPs, drawings and applicable standards.
• Conduct inspections of piling activities and coordinate with consultants, clients and project teams.
• Monitor bored CFA and driven piling, pile tests and related foundation activities.
• Prepare and maintain IRs, MIRs, WIRs, checklists, inspection records and quality documentation.
• Review submittals, material approvals, method statements, ITPs and quality procedures.
• Coordinate and monitor Pile Integrity Tests, CSL, dynamic and static load tests, PDA testing.
• Ensure concrete quality control documentation and records.
• Maintain QA/QC records and project quality dossiers.
• Assist in preparing Material Submittals, Method Statements, ITPs, Quality Plans, Inspection Checklists and Test Reports.
• Monitor calibration and validity of inspection and testing equipment.
• Participate in internal and external quality audits.
• Ensure all project documentation is maintained for final handover and project close-out.
• Support Project Manager and QA/QC Manager in resolving technical and quality issues.

We are looking for a highly experienced and technically strong QA/QC Engineer – Piling to join our team in the UAE.

The ideal candidate must have minimum 5 years of UAE experience in QA/QC within piling and foundation projects, with strong knowledge of inspection procedures, quality documentation, testing requirements, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC procedures and inspection plans for piling and foundation works.
• Ensure all piling activities comply with approved Project Specifications, Method Statements, ITPs, Drawings, and applicable standards.
• Conduct inspections of piling activities and coordinate with consultants, clients, and project teams.
• Monitor bored piling, CFA piling, driven piling, piling load tests, integrity tests, and related foundation activities, as applicable to the project.
• Prepare and maintain Inspection Requests (IR), Material Inspection Requests (MIR), WIR, checklists, inspection records, and quality documentation.
• Review technical submittals, material approvals, method statements, ITPs, and quality procedures.
• Coordinate and monitor Pile Integrity Tests (PIT), Cross-Hole Sonic Logging (CSL), Dynamic Load Tests, Static Load Tests, PDA testing, and other relevant piling tests.
• Ensure proper implementation and documentation of concrete quality control, including slump tests, cube testing, batching records, and concrete placement records.
• Monitor reinforcement cage fabrication, installation, pile depth, borehole conditions, drilling parameters, casing, tremie concreting, and other critical piling activities.
• Identify Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with site engineers, surveyors, subcontractors, testing laboratories, consultants, and client representatives.
• Conduct quality inspections and audits at site and ensure compliance with approved procedures.
• Maintain complete and accurate QA/QC records and project quality dossiers.
• Assist in preparing Material Submittals, Method Statements, ITPs, Quality Plans, Inspection Checklists, and Test Reports.

Mandatory Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of UAE experience in QA/QC Engineering.
• Strong and proven experience in piling/foundation projects is mandatory.
• Candidates without substantial piling QA/QC experience will not be considered.
• Strong knowledge of piling inspection, testing, concrete works, reinforcement, and foundation construction.
• Good knowledge of ITP, Method Statements, MIR, WIR/IR, NCR, RFI, QA/QC procedures, and project documentation.
• Experience dealing with consultants, clients, laboratories, and third-party testing agencies.
• Knowledge of relevant international standards and UAE project requirements.
• Strong technical documentation and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage QA/QC requirements at active construction sites.
• UAE driving licence is an advantage.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a hands-on QA/QC professional, not purely a documentation-based candidate.

The successful candidate should have the ability to identify quality issues at site, understand piling construction methodology, coordinate effectively with site teams and consultants, and ensure that works are completed in accordance with approved specifications and quality standards.
