Job summary

APCO in Abu Dhabi is seeking a seasoned Account Director to lead strategic communications for the Abu Dhabi government, with emphasis on technology and AI storytelling. You will coordinate multi-agency teams and drive media engagements in a fast-paced innovation environment.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in tech-focused comms, exceptional writing, and fluency in English with Arabic a plus. You will develop bilingual content and manage brand messaging across platforms.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in a reputable communications agency or in-house role, focus on technology, AI or innovation-driven industries.
• Exceptional writing and storytelling with ability to translate complex info into clear narratives; AP style.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic communications for tech and AI sectors; align with organizational goals.
• Build and maintain relationships with local, regional, and international tech media.
• Position the organization as a thought leader through high-quality content (white papers, opinion pieces, keynote speeches).
• Coordinate with external agencies to ensure consistent messaging across platforms.
• Oversee bilingual (English and Arabic) content for press releases, speeches, and presentations.
• Manage brand identity across communication channels and campaigns.
• Lead crisis communication and protect the organization’s reputation in tech spaces.
• Track and report on effectiveness of strategies and campaigns with metric-focused insights.
