Job summary

InterContinental Dubai Marina Hotel & Residences is seeking a Public Area Team Leader to lead and work alongside the Public Area Attendants, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation across lobby, corridors, restrooms, and dining spaces.

You will supervise daily cleaning tasks, conduct inspections, and ensure HACCP and safety guidelines are followed while coordinating with Housekeeping and other departments to meet guest expectations.

Qualifications

• Hospitality qualification or equivalent experience in a luxury hotel.
• 1-2 years in Housekeeping operations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in English (other languages are a plus).
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Public Area team to ensure all hotel public areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene.
• The Public Area Team Leader is a working lead role: you will supervise the team and also clean alongside with them throughout the shift.
• Coordinate daily cleaning assignments and ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and according to the established schedule.
• Conduct regular inspections of public areas, including the lobby, corridors, elevators, restrooms, restaurants, back-of-house areas, and other assigned spaces.
• Ensure all cleaning activities are carried out in accordance with hotel standards, HACCP requirements, health and safety procedures, and brand standards.
• Monitor the proper use, handling, and storage of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist the team with daily cleaning duties and provide guidance and support whenever required.
• Ensure cleaning equipment and machinery are properly maintained and report any defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
• Coordinate with the Housekeeping and other hotel departments to address cleaning requirements, guest requests, and operational needs.
• Respond promptly to guest and colleague requests related to public area cleanliness and ensure issues are resolved professionally.
• Train, coach, and guide Public Area Attendants on cleaning procedures, equipment usage, safety practices, and hotel standards.
• Ensure adequate stock of cleaning materials and amenities and inform the supervisor of replenishment requirements.
• Report any damages, maintenance issues, lost and found items, or safety hazards observed in public areas.
• Maintain proper records and checklists related to cleaning schedules, inspections, and equipment maintenance.
• Support deep-cleaning activities and special cleaning projects as required.
• Maintain a professional and positive working relationship with colleagues and other departments.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Housekeeping Management team.
