Job summary

NMC healthcare LLC in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Clinical Psychologist to assess and treat psychiatric conditions in inpatients and outpatients as part of an integrated mental health program.

The role includes conducting diagnostic interviews, administering psychometric tests, and delivering individual, group and family therapies, with responsibilities ranging from prevention to research and education in mental health.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from a recognized college or university.
• At least 2 years of experience in clinical psychology.
• Current licensure in country of origin and HAAD license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
• Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
• Communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, superiors, patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Offers counseling for couples with marital conflicts.
• Uses behavioral methods for the treatment of children and adults and plans the frequency, intensity and duration of therapy.
• Performs psychometric and mental measuring testing for diagnosis and evaluation of therapy.
• Engages in research and educational activities that will improve methods and techniques for the management of emotionally disturbed patients.
• Keeps current with ideas in the fields of personality development and adjustment, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental disorders to assist in the planning of mental health progress.
• Provides advice to community organizations and participates in related psychological and welfare activities.
• Takes after-hours or weekend calls as required by specific cases or in emergency situations as requested.
• Performs related duties as assigned by the Head of Department.

Job description

Participates in the diagnosis and therapy of psychiatric illness. Serves as a professional assistant to Psychiatrists who provide psychiatric care to inpatients and outpatients with mental or psychological illnesses, and engages in preventive care as a part of an integrated program of curative and preventive medicine.

Responsibilities

2. Provides various psychotherapies including individual, group and family therapies.

11. Follows appropriate international guidelines, HAAD regulations and Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties.
12. Complies with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperates with hospital management to comply with those requirements.
13. Works in accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions.
14. Is familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
15. Notifies OSH hazards, incidents, near misses and issues and assists with the preparation of risk assessments and incident reports.
16. Complies with waste management procedures and policies.
17. Attends applicable OSH infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs.
18. Uses appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.

Qualifications

1. Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from a recognized college or university.
2. At least 2 years of experience in the field of clinical psychology.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of medical ethics with regard to the obligation to maintain work confidentiality.
4. Working knowledge of intelligence, achievement, interest, personality and other psychological tests and measuring devices.
5. Current licensure in country of origin and HAAD license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
6. Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
