Key Responsibilities
Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments to diagnose and treat a range of mental health disorders.
- Develop personalized treatment plans based on clinical evaluations.
Medication Management
- Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Educate patients and their families on medication options, benefits, and potential side effects.
Psychotherapy
- Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy using evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
- Foster a therapeutic alliance with patients to support their mental health and well-being.
- Work closely with psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in case conferences and treatment planning meetings.
Crisis Intervention
- Respond to psychiatric emergencies and provide timely crisis intervention.
- Collaborate with emergency services and other medical professionals for coordinated care.
- Educate patients about their mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Advocate for mental health awareness and contribute to destigmatizing mental health issues.
Qualifications
- Medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Board certification in Psychiatry.
- Valid DOH medical license to practice in Abu Dhabi.
- Years of post-residency experience in psychiatry.
- Proficiency in evidence-based psychotherapeutic techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills
- Knowledge of mental health regulations and standards in Abu Dhabi.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying informed about advancements in psychiatry.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural and diverse healthcare environment.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
