Job summary

SIMCO in Dubai seeks a Proposal Engineer to support durable, cost-effective civil infrastructure projects. You will prepare BOQs, perform quantity and cost estimates, and evaluate supplier quotations, ensuring timely delivery of technical and commercial proposals.

The role requires a Civil/Structural Engineering degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, good English communication, and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of estimation principles and techniques.
• Basic knowledge of NDT and SDT methodologies.
• Familiarity with construction fieldwork, concrete repair, and structural strengthening is advantageous.
• Ability to perform quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
• Understanding durability, condition assessment, or structural inspection services is desirable.
• Strong estimation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Perform material, labor, and equipment quantity calculations.
• Prepare cost estimates for engineering projects.
• Request and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals.

Key Candidate Selection Criteria:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Technical Knowledge
• Fundamental knowledge of estimation principles.
• Basic knowledge of NDT’s and SDT’s methodologies
• Familiarity with construction fieldwork, concrete repair, structural rehabilitation and strengthening, waterproofing, protective coatings, or infrastructure maintenance is an advantage.
• Ability to perform quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications is desirable.
• Understanding durability, condition assessment, or structural inspection services is desirable.
