Job summary

Drake & Scull International seeks a seasoned Project Manager (Civil) to lead major civil construction projects from planning through close-out. You will manage project teams, subcontractors, client/consultant expectations, programme, cost, quality and HSE performance to protect project objectives and company interests.

Requirements include a Civil Engineering degree, 12+ years in civil contracting, strong UAE/GCC experience, and PMP/DM/SOE certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• 12+ years in civil contracting with project management responsibility.
• Strong UAE/GCC experience in high-rise, hospitality, residential, commercial or mixed-use building projects.
• PMP, DM/SOE registration or equivalent certification.
• Experience with fast-track construction and large site teams.

Role Description

We are seeking a strong Project Manager (Civil) to lead the delivery of major civil construction projects from planning and mobilisation through execution, handover and close-out. The role requires a confident contractor-side leader with the ability to manage project teams, subcontractors, client and consultant expectations, programme, cost, quality and HSE performance while protecting project objectives and company interests.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end civil project delivery including planning, mobilisation, execution, monitoring, handover and close-out.
• Manage site teams, construction managers, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, manpower, materials and equipment.
• Monitor project programme, progress, productivity, critical activities, resource allocation and recovery actions.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, authorities, subcontractors, suppliers and internal departments to resolve project issues.
• Drive project cost control, variation awareness, procurement follow-up, subcontractor performance and contractual documentation.
• Ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, HSE standards and authority regulations.
• Lead project meetings, management reporting, risk reviews, delay mitigation and stakeholder communication.
• Ensure timely completion of testing, inspections, snag clearance, handover documents and project close-out requirements.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in civil contracting, with proven project management responsibility.
• Strong UAE/GCC experience in high-rise, hospitality, residential, commercial or mixed-use building projects.
• Proven ability to manage large site teams, subcontractors, schedules, budgets, quality and HSE performance.
• Strong commercial awareness including variations, claims support, subcontractor management and cost monitoring.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, planning and decision-making skills.
• PMP, DM/SOE registration or relevant professional certification.
• Experience with fast-track construction and high-value projects.
• Strong exposure to project recovery, handover and close-out.
