Job summary

First Tech, a UAE technology group in Abu Dhabi, seeks a seasoned PMO leader to manage the venture’s project portfolio and delivery across multiple teams. You will align priorities with strategy, balance resources, and drive milestones in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Finance and vendors while applying PMO governance and leveraging AI tools to enhance planning, reporting, and outcomes. This is a senior, full-time role in Abu Dhabi.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business or related field.
• 6–8 years delivering projects/programmes in tech or product environments.
• Portfolio management experience preferred.
• Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, PfMP or MSP preferred; SAFe is a plus.
• Strong planning, prioritisation, execution, budget and resource management.
• Ability to understand project connections, dependencies and priorities.
• Excellent written and spoken English with senior stakeholders.
• Experience using AI agents and automation in PMO work.

Job Purpose

Lead the project portfolio of an assigned First.Tech venture, ensuring projects are prioritised, resourced and delivered in line with business objectives and Group PMO standards. Partner with venture leadership and cross-functional teams to drive delivery, manage dependencies and provide clear visibility of progress, risks and outcomes to the Chief Strategy Officer and Venture CEO.

What you'll do

• Manage the venture's project portfolio from intake and prioritisation through planning, execution and closure.
• Work with the Venture CEO and leadership team to align project priorities, scope and sequencing with venture strategy and Group objectives.
• Coordinate multiple delivery teams, balancing capacity, resources and dependencies across projects.
• Track timelines, budgets, scope and expected benefits, addressing delivery challenges and escalating significant deviations.
• Identify and manage project and portfolio risks, issues and dependencies, driving timely mitigation and resolution.
• Provide clear, structured reporting to senior stakeholders, highlighting progress, decisions required and emerging risks.
• Apply Group PMO standards and governance, maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Finance, QA, vendors and implementation partners to achieve project milestones.
• Use AI agents and automation to improve planning, reporting and day-to-day PMO efficiency.

What we're looking for

• A bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business or a related field.
• 6-8 years of experience delivering projects or programmes in a technology or product environment, with demonstrated experience managing several delivery teams simultaneously.
• Portfolio management experience is strongly preferred.
• PMP, PRINCE2, PfMP or MSP certification is preferred; experience with SAFe is an advantage.
• Strong skills in planning, prioritisation, execution and budget, resource and timeline management.
• The ability to understand how projects connect, anticipate dependencies and resolve competing priorities.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with senior stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to drive delivery through cross-functional collaboration.
• Practical experience using AI agents and automation in project or PMO work.
• A structured, accountable approach, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
