DesignTomorrow is looking for a Project Architect to join our Dubai studio in d3 and lead the delivery of a project workstream, a small project, or a major stage of a flagship one.
You will work on large-scale, design-ambitious projects across the UAE and the wider region: masterplans, cultural districts, waterfront developments and high-end residential schemes. You translate design intent into deliverable detail without letting the quality drift, and you bring design ambition to delivery rather than retreating to the path of least resistance.
You will run a sub-team of two to four Architects and Junior Architects, review their work before it goes up the line, and give them the clear, useful feedback that helps them grow. The Project Architect we want is the one the Associate does not have to worry about: the project moves, the team is supported, the drawings are right, and difficult moments get raised early with options, not problems.
DT is a practice built to be a platform for personal and career growth. The path from Project Architect to Senior Architect is clear and competency-based: you move up when you are already doing the job, not when the calendar says so.
Requirements
- 4 to 7 years of experience post MA/MSc, with evidence of leading a project workstream or small project end to end.
- Master's degree in Architecture (MA, MSc, MArch or international equivalent) from an accredited institution. Professional licensure complete or imminent.
- A track record of managing small teams of two to four people.
- Working knowledge of the regulatory and code environment relevant to projects in the UAE.
- Working knowledge of BIM coordination workflows.
- Fluent in Revit, Rhino, Enscape and Adobe Suite.
- Confident with AI-augmented design workflows in a delivery context.
- Commercially aware: understands the fee implications of design and delivery choices, and asks the right questions about scope and resourcing.
- Comfortable with clients on technical and progress matters, and reads the room.
- Wants to keep learning and growing, and to develop the people around you.
- Must be currently based in the UAE, or willing to relocate.
Nice to have:
- Experience across both UAE and UK regulatory environments.
- Experience writing bid content: sections, case studies and project narratives.
- Familiarity with the GCC context, climate and cultural sensitivities.
What you'll get:
- Real leadership of a workstream or project on flagship work, with the authority to run it.
- A sub-team of your own, and the support to develop them.
- Regular design reviews with the Founder and design leads, where the work is pressure-tested.
- A seat in DT Labs, where we develop new technologies and techniques, and the AI and digital tools that come out of it.
- A clear, competency-based path to Senior Architect, in a practice that treats your growth as part of its own.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day delivery of an assigned project, workstream or stage: programme, deliverables, design quality and consultant coordination.
- Translate design intent into deliverable detail, making the calls on resolution depth, drawing standards and detailing strategy with the project lead.
- Manage a sub-team of two to four Architects and Junior Architects: assign work, review output, run regular team check-ins and quality-check the work before it goes to the project lead or Associate.
- Mentor Architects and Junior Architects, with formal line management of one to three people likely.
- Coordinate consultants (structural, MEP, landscape, façade, specialists): chair coordination meetings, track open items and escalate risks.
- Maintain the project programme and flag programme and resourcing risk early, with proposed mitigation.
- Contribute content to bid materials, fee proposals and pitch presentations.
- Present project work at DT design reviews and respond constructively to feedback.
- Contribute to DT Labs and to the development of DT's design and technical standards.
