Job summary

Amazon Now is seeking a Subject Matter Expert to coordinate implementation of new processes within quick commerce. The SME will work closely with store operations, last mile delivery teams, and global product teams to drive tech-enabled improvements in SC, UTR, and OTR.

The role involves building low-cost automations, shaping roadmaps for HWMS and delivery services, and delivering regular updates to senior leadership while fostering Kaizen across tech and operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of program or project management experience.
• 3+ years of cross-functional work with tech and non-tech teams.
• 3+ years of using data and metrics to drive improvements.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and SQL knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Drive UTR/OTR programs at the darkstore level, optimizing inbound, warehouse, and last-mile delivery.

The Tech SME team acts as a catalyst for change by driving innovation at the operator level, prioritizing technology initiatives and supporting engineering design innovations. Tech SMEs strive to be experts in Amazon's operation systems. They are accountable to delivering world class solutions through optimizing and reinventing the existing technology.

The Tech SME is a functional expert on the software tools in given process areas and their application in the network. A successful manager in this organization has strong program management experience to define the process the team uses to deliver best in class tech to the field. This person looks for ways to automate human decision making by influencing Technology to build and update tools that reduce process complexity to deliver robust processes.

The Role

The Subject Matter Expert (SME) supports, coordinates and facilitates implementation of new & improved processes within the quick commerce operations. The SME works closely with the store operations, last mile delivery teams, and local & global product teams. They will be the single point of contact for all tech related activities related with Supply Chain (SC), Under the roof (UTR) and On the road (OTR) and will be providing regular updates to senior leadership team.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead technology programs and initiatives for darkstore operations, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems
• Drive Under the Roof (UTR) and On the Road (OTR) operations programs at the darkstore level, optimizing inbound, warehouse, and last-mile delivery processes
• Build low-cost automations using AI tools such as KIRO, Quick, and related operations to drive efficiency and reduce manual processes
• Prepare & lead the tech roadmap for improvement of hybrid warehouse management system (HWMS) for inbound and outbound processes
• Prepare & lead the tech roadmap for enhancement of delivery service, working closely with the 3P partners & DSP teams
• Collaborate with worldwide (WW) product and tech teams of HWMS/PRIMS and Last Mile to launch products in Quick commerce (QC) business
• Work closely with the tech organization to document and drive upcoming changes, leveraging tools such as business requirement documents (BRDs) to ensure seamless integration with the existing system.
• Provide regular, concise updates to Tech SME leadership on the progress of the system's development and its potential impact.
• Develop the culture of continuous improvement and Kaizen across tech & operations to optimize processes and reduce SLAs
• Support new store launches, including but not limited to configurations, Quality Assurance (QA), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), etc., coordinating with multiple global product & tech teams and work with external stakeholders to continuously reduce the time to launch a store
• Provide trainings to operations on new systems and processes
• Maintain strong relationship with the IN, NA, MENA, ROW tech teams working for QC business

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of program or project management experience
• 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
• 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
• Bachelor's degree
• Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
• Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
• 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
• Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
• Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
