Key Responsibilities
- Review project scope of work, schedules, specifications, drawings, and deliverables to understand production requirements and execution priorities.
- Prepare scope of work documents, task lists, and production execution inputs for assigned project activities.
- Review fabrication schedules and recommend corrections or improvements to the planning team.
- Check engineering drawings for constructability and identify special items, subcontracting requirements, or production constraints.
- Review monthly material reports and raise concerns related to material delivery, availability, or schedule impact.
- Review material requisitions before order placement to confirm production requirements are properly captured.
- Check material grades, plate sizing assumptions, and fabrication‑related technical details.
- Initiate site queries to support practical use of available materials, including acceptable substitutions where required.
- Provide field guidance to production teams and ensure compliance with company specifications and project requirements.
- Attend production meetings, report concerns, and follow up on actions affecting fabrication progress.
- Monitor scope changes, production revision orders, and related impacts on fabrication activities.
- Report weekly fabrication progress and monitor production man‑hours, productivity, and work progress trends.
- Review four‑week lookahead plans and identify constraints related to materials, drawings, procedures, manpower, or work fronts.
- Coordinate with construction engineers to ensure procedures are issued on time and all relevant teams understand approved changes.
- Coordinate subcontracted production or fabrication scope when required by the project.
- Review as‑built drawings and ensure production‑related updates are captured accurately.
- Coordinate material movements within the yard to support fabrication, erection, and project execution activities.
- Work with shop floor and erection planning teams to ensure production work remains aligned with the approved project plan.
- Approve relevant fabrication drawings and review work pack deliverables according to the work pack index.
- Support production problem‑solving by applying technical knowledge, standard procedures, project judgment, and previous execution experience.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of oil and gas experience with a major contractor or consultant.
- Practical knowledge of fabrication, production engineering, construction support, and yard execution activities.
- Familiarity with API RP2A, AISC, and AWS standards.
- Strong understanding of production processes, fabrication workflows, material control, and oil and gas project execution requirements.
- Ability to review drawings, schedules, work packs, material reports, fabrication documents, and production deliverables.
- Good coordination skills with the ability to work with planning, construction, materials, subcontractors, shop floor, and project teams.
- Strong problem‑solving ability with attention to constructability, material availability, productivity, and schedule constraints.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to production processes, fabrication facilities, and engineering execution.
- Ability to work with moderate guidance while building deeper knowledge of company procedures, client requirements, and project delivery expectations.
