Context The Product Designer works within a cross-functional product squad alongside senior designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to improve digital experiences used by customers across talabat's platform. The role combines practical design execution with structured learning, giving the designer ownership of clearly scoped problems while benefiting from guidance and feedback from more experienced team members. The position contributes directly to product usability, consistency, accessibility, and customer satisfaction. By understanding user behavior, applying design system standards, testing ideas, and iterating quickly, the designer helps turn product requirements into intuitive experiences that support both customer needs and business goals.
The preferred candidate has 1-2 years of full-time UX-UI or product design experience, ideally within a consumer-facing digital product, technology platform, marketplace, or mobile application environment. A bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Design, Visual Communication, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field is preferred. Candidates from other educational backgrounds may also be suitable when supported by a strong portfolio and relevant practical design experience. A portfolio should demonstrate the complete design thinking process rather than only polished visual outputs. It should show how problems were understood, explored, validated, and translated into user-centered solutions. Working knowledge of Figma and common prototyping tools is important. Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools and a willingness to explore emerging workflows would be advantageous. Candidates should understand core UX practices such as user flows, journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, and iterative interface design. Strong attention to detail is essential, together with genuine interest in how products look, feel, and function. The role suits someone who communicates clearly, asks thoughtful questions, responds positively to direct feedback, and is comfortable improving work through repeated iteration. Good organization and the ability to manage individual tasks within an agile sprint environment are also important.
