Procurement Manager / Purchasing Manager

Job summary

Tanqeeb in Dubai seeks an experienced Head of Purchasing to devise inventive procurement strategies, lead supplier negotiations, and oversee end-to-end sourcing for local and overseas purchases. The role requires strong contract management, PO oversight, cost analysis, and team leadership within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will manage supplier relationships, oversee high-value procurement, ensure timely delivery, and collaborate with management to optimize inventory and cost

Qualifications

• Minimum 8-10 years of UAE experience in procurement or purchasing.
• Experience in furniture manufacturing and joinery is required.
• Exposure to both local and overseas sourcing.
• Proven experience in supplier negotiation and supplier contract management.
• Experience managing Purchase Orders, quotations, and cost analysis.
• Experience handling large-value procurement on a monthly or annual basis, including high-volume purchasing and cost management.
• Experience in leading and managing a purchasing team.
• UAE driving license is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Develop procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective for both local and overseas purchases.
• Source and engage reliable suppliers and vendors.
• Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
• Review ongoing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure ongoing feasibility.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Evaluate quotations, perform value and cost analysis, approve Purchase Orders, and organize/confirm the delivery of goods and services.
• Perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
• Control the procurement budget and promote long-term savings on procurement costs.
• Provide leadership and direction to the Purchasing Team.
• Maintain a complete and updated database of suppliers and their pricing.
• Handle and monitor supplier claims regarding quality, defects, shortages, missing items, etc.
• Plan and manage inventory levels of materials and products in coordination with Stores.
• Communicate regularly with Management regarding the efficient flow of goods and services affecting production.
• Effectively coordinate with Managers, Staff, and Suppliers regarding purchasing activities for assigned projects/work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
