Role Context
The Procurement Manager will manage a broad portfolio of indirect spend supporting Sales and Marketing activities, converting business requirements into structured sourcing strategies and commercially sound supplier agreements. The position requires strong understanding of agency models, media buying, creative services, event procurement, branding, digital solutions, promotional materials, and campaign-driven purchasing. The role contributes directly to marketing effectiveness and cost discipline by balancing commercial value with service quality, delivery speed, brand requirements, and supplier capability. Close engagement with internal stakeholders and external agencies will be essential to improve procurement outcomes without limiting creative or operational flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop category strategies covering creative agencies, media, digital services, events, PR, production, branding, and promotional materials.
- Translate annual Sales and Marketing plans into practical procurement roadmaps and sourcing priorities.
- Review historical spend, supplier performance, market conditions, and upcoming demand to identify savings and value-creation opportunities.
- Lead end-to-end sourcing exercises for marketing and professional services categories.
- Prepare and manage RFQs, RFPs, tender documentation, commercial evaluations, and supplier comparison exercises.
- Identify suitable agencies, production partners, event suppliers, media providers, and specialist vendors.
- Evaluate supplier proposals against commercial, technical, service, quality, and delivery requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, retainers, rate cards, commercial models, payment terms, and contractual conditions.
- Support procurement requirements for roadshows, launches, activations, events, exhibitions, and campaign-related initiatives.
- Coordinate sourcing for media planning and buying, creative development, branding, digital solutions, content production, and promotional materials.
- Ensure supplier appointments comply with procurement governance, approval requirements, and internal procedures.
- Work closely with Marketing teams on campaign-specific purchases and time-sensitive sourcing requirements.
- Provide commercial guidance during supplier selection and ensure decisions are supported by transparent evaluation criteria.
- Establish effective working relationships with strategic marketing suppliers and agencies.
- Define and monitor supplier KPIs, SLAs, delivery standards, and commercial commitments.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and agree corrective actions where performance falls below expectations.
- Manage vendor escalations relating to service quality, timelines, commercial terms, or contractual obligations.
- Encourage continuous improvement and innovation from key suppliers.
- Lead contract negotiations to secure appropriate commercial protections and favorable business terms.
- Review contractual risks, scope definitions, deliverables, payment structures, and service requirements before commitment.
- Maintain visibility over contract validity, renewals, amendments, and supplier obligations.

- Track cost-saving initiatives and report realized procurement value to management.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing stakeholders to understand upcoming campaigns, launches, events, and project requirements.
- Advise internal teams on sourcing approaches, supplier options, commercial risk, and procurement timelines.
- Conduct market intelligence on agency pricing, service models, digital capabilities, production trends, and marketing procurement practices.
- Benchmark suppliers and commercial structures to maintain competitive positioning.
- Maintain accurate sourcing records, commercial evaluations, contracts, purchase documentation, and supplier performance data.
- Support management reporting covering spend, savings, supplier performance, category initiatives, and procurement pipeline.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor 's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, indirect procurement, or category management.
- Strong experience procuring marketing and professional services.
- Practical knowledge of media planning and buying, creative agencies, branding, digital marketing, events, PR, and production services.
- Previous involvement in roadshows, exhibitions, launches, activations, or major corporate events is highly advantageous.
- Strong commercial negotiation skills with experience managing agencies and specialist service providers.
- Able to structure competitive sourcing exercises and evaluate complex service proposals.
- Experienced in contract negotiation, commercial terms, supplier risk, and service-level management.
- Strong understanding of procurement governance and approval workflows.
