Job summary

Swiss PRO Foundations in the UAE seeks an experienced Procurement Manager to lead sourcing for piling, foundation, and geotechnical projects. You will manage end-to-end procurement, negotiate terms, and ensure on-time delivery to sites.

The role requires 8–10 years in procurement within construction, with 3–5 years in piling or heavy civil work, and strong knowledge of UAE market. You will supervise a procurement team and drive cost efficiencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 8–10 years of procurement experience in construction.
• Experience in piling, foundations or heavy civil is highly preferred.
• Strong negotiation, supplier evaluation, and contract management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop procurement strategies aligned with project requirements, budgets, and timelines.
• Manage full procurement cycle from RFQ to delivery with supplier evaluation.
• Source and evaluate UAE and GCC suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Procure piling, foundation materials, equipment, and site services.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with Project, Engineering, Estimation, QS, Planning, Stores, and Finance.
• Review BOQs and project schedules to plan procurement activities.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and compliance.
• Ensure timely delivery to site to prevent delays.
• Maintain procurement records and reports.
• Provide regular procurement KPIs and cost-saving opportunities.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Procurement Manager with strong experience in the piling, foundation, or geotechnical construction industry. The candidate will be responsible for managing the complete procurement function, including sourcing materials, equipment, subcontractors and services, negotiating commercial terms, controlling procurement costs, and ensuring timely delivery to project sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project requirements, budgets, and timelines.
• Manage the complete procurement cycle from RFQ, supplier evaluation and quotation comparison through negotiation, purchase order and delivery.
• Source and evaluate reliable suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors, and service providers within the UAE and GCC.
• Procure piling and foundation materials, equipment, spare parts, consumables, construction materials, and site services.
• Coordinate with Project, Engineering, Estimation, QS, Planning, Stores, Finance, and Site teams to understand procurement requirements.
• Review BOQs, specifications, material requirements, and project schedules to plan procurement activities.
• Obtain competitive quotations and negotiate prices, payment terms, credit facilities, warranties, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions.
• Develop and maintain an updated database of approved suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Monitor supplier performance, material quality, delivery schedules, and compliance with project requirements.
• Ensure materials and equipment are delivered to sites on time to avoid project delays.
• Handle procurement of piling equipment, drilling tools, casing, reinforcement steel, concrete-related materials, bentonite/polymer, welding materials, spare parts, PPE, and other site requirements.
• Identify alternative suppliers and implement cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities without compromising quality.
• Negotiate and manage subcontracting arrangements for piling, foundation, transportation, equipment rental, and related services.
• Review and approve purchase orders in accordance with company procurement procedures and delegated authority.
• Monitor outstanding purchase orders, pending deliveries, invoices, and material receipts.
• Resolve supplier issues related to pricing, quality, delivery, specifications, payment, and availability.
• Maintain proper procurement records, reports, supplier evaluations, and commercial documentation.
• Monitor market prices and supplier trends to support effective purchasing decisions.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, project specifications, quality requirements, and UAE regulations.
• Lead and supervise the procurement team and ensure efficient day-to-day purchasing operations.
• Provide regular procurement reports to management covering cost savings, pending purchases, supplier performance, delivery status, and procurement KPIs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 8–10 years of procurement experience in the construction industry.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience specifically in piling, foundations, geotechnical, or heavy civil construction is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of piling and foundation materials, equipment, consumables, spare parts, and subcontracting services.
• Strong knowledge of the UAE supplier and construction market.
• Proven experience in supplier sourcing, quotation evaluation, commercial negotiations, and contract/subcontract management.
• Strong understanding of procurement planning, cost control, and supplier performance management.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
