Job summary

Azizi Developments in Dubai is seeking an experienced Procurement Engineer – Civil Materials to lead civil material procurement for Aluminium, Steel, Marble, Joinery, Ready Mix Concrete, Residential and Commercial building projects. You will coordinate with project teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance with specifications.

The ideal candidate has 10–12 years of procurement experience, strong knowledge of civil finishing materials, overseas procurement, supplier evaluation and contract

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 10–12 years of experience in procurement, with strong expertise in material procurement.
  • Proven expertise in civil finishing materials and systems used in residential and hotel buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with international suppliers and manufacturers to procure civil materials and services, leveraging knowledge of global markets to identify cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality standards.
  • Evaluate and select vendors based on their track record, reliability, technical capability, commercial competitiveness, and ability to meet project requirements.
  • Negotiate contracts, commercial terms, pricing, payment conditions, and delivery schedules with suppliers to maximize procurement outcomes.
  • Work closely with project managers, consultants, and engineering teams to understand technical specifications and key technical requirements and identify opportunities for cost optimization and savings.
  • Ensure that all purchased materials comply with approved project specifications, applicable standards, quality requirements, and technical requirements.
  • Streamline procurement processes, minimize lead times, and effectively manage material deliveries in line with project schedules.
  • Identify potential supply chain and delivery risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies to ensure uninterrupted project execution.
  • Implement quality control procedures for civil material components and coordinate inspections and audits to verify compliance with approved specifications.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, supplier quotations, delivery schedules, supplier performance, and procurement status.
  • Prepare regular procurement reports for management review, including procurement progress, supplier performance, delivery status, and commercial outcomes.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, construction, logistics, commercial, and project management teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Conduct market research and remain updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, new materials, suppliers, and best practices in civil finishing materials procurement.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, cost optimization, and improved procurement efficiency.
  • Manage overseas procurement activities and travel internationally as required for supplier meetings, negotiations, inspections, and sourcing activities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in procurement of major civil finishing materials and subcontract packages.
  • Demonstrable experience in overseas/international procurement.
  • Strong knowledge of vendor selection, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, technical specifications, project requirements, and applicable quality standards.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate supplier proposals and make data-driven procurement decisions.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/procurement software.
  • Familiarity with advanced research methodologies and procurement market analysis.
  • Experience working within the Construction / Real Estate Development industry.
  • English language proficiency is mandatory; knowledge of additional languages will be an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
  • UAE driving license is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet project procurement deadlines.
